Can I book a lens?

Yes, we need your name, address and a contact phone number together with the dates you require the lens. (ideally by email). We will confirm availability and will contact you before dispatch by phone, to take your card details.

We can only hire to people over 18 years old.

Are the lenses insured whilst on hire?

They are covered whilst in transit, but are not insured whilst in your possession. This is to keep down the hire cost and to not penalise careful hirers. It may be worth checking if you are covered on your household insurance. You are responsible for the equipment you have hired and will be expected to pay the full value of the equipment if it is lost, stolen or damaged.

How are they sent?

Royal mail special delivery, normally next day before noon delivery. We take outgoing postage at the time of hire. Postage is charged at cost (or as near to it as we can estimate).

The postage varies with the weight of the item. small items are £7, small/med lenses £10 but the bigger zoom lenses are around £26.

Keep all of the packing for the return of the lens.

To return the lens, repack and use the enclosed address label, take the parcel to any post office, you are responsible for the return postage.

Can I buy from you?

We don’t sell lenses or cameras.

What is included in the hire?

All the standard accessories that came with the lens when new, i.e. front and back cap, lens hood, case if one came with the lens, plus normally a high quality pro UV filter. In the case of a camera, one original battery, charger, one data card of at least 2Gb, usb cable, and RAW software.

Can I have a lens sent to my workplace?

Lenses must be sent to the registered address of the cardholder that paid for the hire, although regular customers can have them sent to their workplace if they prefer.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We don’t need a deposit, but do remember that you are liable for the full cost of any lens stolen or broken whilst in your care.

Can I hire for less than a single week?

The shortest period we will hire for is one week.
